For the grammar snobs From Wikipedia and Merriam-Webster:
In English, the term "myriad" is most commonly used to refer to a large number of an unspecified size. In this way "myriad" can be used as either a noun or an adjective. Thus both "there are myriad people outside" and "there is a myriad of people outside" are correct. Merriam-Webster notes, "Recent criticism of the use of myriad as a noun, both in the plural form myriads and in the phrase a myriad of, seems to reflect a mistaken belief that the word was originally and is still properly only an adjective.... however, the noun is in fact the older form, dating to the 16th century. The noun myriad has appeared in the works of such writers as Milton (plural myriads) and Thoreau (a myriad of), and it continues to occur frequently in reputable English. There is no reason to avoid it." | | Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 | | 12:15 pm |
Oh Frabjous Day!
Callooh! Callay! He chortled in his joy! That's me today. So happy. (And I was telling everyone who would listen to me at the revels last night that Obama is a total PILF.) :) | | Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 | | 11:13 am |
Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow. | | Friday, October 10th, 2008 | | 7:24 am |

100% Crazy, Baby Your Score: Allspice You scored 50% intoxication, 25% hotness, 75% complexity, and 100% craziness! You are Allspice!
You are the flavour of the Caribbean. You are not, as many think, a mixture of spices; you are your own, very unique, spice. Though you may be found in the company of "jerks," you're actually quite nice and rather good at making foul things seem nice, too.

Mad Tea Party
Anyone have that copy of Famiy Fun with the Mad Tea Party Ideas? Nothing's coming up on their website, and I'm planning a Not-Back-To-School Mad Tea Party for the local homeschooling community. I recall they had some cute ideas. A copy or scan of the relevant pages would do just fine. | | Thursday, June 28th, 2007 | | 4:18 pm |

WTF?
Dude. I've only been west of the Mississippi, like, once. And there was no picture at the end of the quiz. Not. Fair. </form> Western. Like Midland, Western is another accent that people consider neutral. So, you might not actually be from the Western half of the country, but you definitely sound like it. Take this quiz now - it's easy! | | Monday, April 9th, 2007 | | 10:47 pm |
I think I've bought my last meat from the grocery
It's not even the images, which are disturbing, yes, but most of us have seen them before, read about them, etc. It's the moral argument that got me.

| | | "Earthlings" on Google Video | |
EARTHLINGS is a feature length documentary about humanity's absolute dependence on animals (for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research) but also illustrates our complete disrespect for these so-called "non-human providers." The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (GLADIATOR) and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby.
With an in-depth study into pet stores, puppy mills and animals shelters, as well as factory farms, the leather and fur trades, sports and entertainment industries, and finally the medical and scientific profession, EARTHLINGS uses hidden cameras and never before seen footage to chronicle the day-to-day practices of some of the largest industries in the world, all of which rely entirely on animals for profit. Powerful, informative and thought-provoking, EARTHLINGS is by far the most comprehensive documentary ever produced on the correlation between nature, animals, and human economic interests. There are many worthy animal rights films available, but this one transcends the setting. EARTHLINGS cries to be seen. Highly recommended!
